The Maxine A. Smith Scholarship was established for graduating high school seniors who have participated in the ACT-SO (Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) program. This is a one-time scholarship opportunity. All scholarship recipients will be expected to attend a reception in their honor in late May or early June.

Criteria includes:
Be graduating high school seniors and have participated in ACT-SO. Preference will be given to NAACP members
Have a minimum of a 2.5 (C) GPA out of a 4.0 point system
Submit a typed essay telling about their experiences in ACT-SO.
